I don't know all the ins and outs of the publishing game.  What I have
heard, though, is that publishers generally want to be the first to publish
a work.  If you're alreading publishing it on the internet, you might be
killing a book deal in the process.

I hesitate to say this because I'm really enjoying reading all of your
anecdotes.  :)  But at the same time, once you put something out on the
internet, there's no getting it back.
