Also interesting if you think that the CZ sales have not impacted Leica M sales. Then there are the CV cameras. Some extra RF sandbags on the film dyke against the digital tsunami. Interesting thought that the parting from the Hasselblad network may not have been entirely consensual. Everything I've read regarding Hasselblad's new direction suggests that they are retaining very little of the tradition except for the name. Seems a shame, but hardly unique. I tend to vote with my money for companies that are persevering with traditional film cameras and prime optics. Pretty concise list these days! Just my personal protest/philosophy Cheers Hoppy ------------------------------ Message: 2 Date: Sun, 18 Jun 2006 15:57:30 -0700 From: "Frank Filippone" <red735i@earthlink.net> Subject: RE: Re: RE: Re: [Leica] New M mount Sonnar 1.5 50mm To: "'Leica Users Group'" <lug@leica-users.org> Message-ID: <009f01c6932a$95ab2a50$6401a8c0@FrankDell2> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Last time I heard it is around 10K to 20K per year. Given the recent history and direction of Hasselblad, as run by a guy who ran the digital back business, I doubt Zeiss decided to run on their own. More likely got thrown out with all the film stuff.. Frank Filippone red735i@earthlink.net Still I think it is encouraging that they think the niche worth servicing. I'm sure some knowledgeable LUG member would be able to tell me what the M production comparison would be. Anyone?
