   Alas--perhaps it's because my company health insurance
plan just announced that because I have managed to reach
65, the life insurance benefit has been cut 35 percent,
with the promise to cut it 25 percent more if I live to be
80.

   Lesson: Die young, so you can cost the damned insurance
industry gazillions.

   Curious though, about Kirk's having to sign that war
department document. I had never heard of that before--and
I wonder why it was implemented in the first place.
