You can check for any lens shade caused vignetting by looking through the 
rear inspection door of your Leica 
Ms or opening the back of other cameras. Open the lens to its wides 
aperture. Put your eye near the corner 
of the frame and look through the lens. If you can see the edge of the lens 
shade, there will be some 
vignetting at that lens opening. Vignetting will diminish as the lens is 
closed down. Unfortunately this doesn't 
work with LTM Leicas.
