Maybe you picked too big a hole in the rose cluster for the sun to come through or the sun didn't break up enough off the petal edges. But the burst effect is somewhat overwhelming. How to correct it? Well I'd try shooting with the sun coming through a smaller hole between flowers for one. Or blocking it completely behind the flowers letting it become a kind of backlit rim lighting. Another might be to capture the "sun glow" through petals without the flash fill. But it's worth a play around trying different things. Certainly work it well without the flash because using the natural light you can really see what the effect is and move about knowing "what you see is what you get." Certainly over a flash blast. ted
