I have just been watching a prrogramme about Henri Cartier Bresson on
the Artsworld Channel, and if anyone has any doubt about his influence
on this particular genre of photography they should watch this
programme. The programme was called 'The Impressioned Eye'.

Favourite quotes from the programme:

"A photo is like the stab of a knife, painting is meditation";

"When you hit the target there is not need to crop the picture"; and
from Elliott Erwitt:

"Pictures .... come and bite you."

I am now looking for the programme on DVD if anyone has any information.
