They also had a problem with compatibility with the Winder R8, Motor Drive R8 and later the DM-R. I know that Leica has had a policy to upgrade the innards of every R8 presented to them for warranty service, no matter what the cause, and later units were fine, from the factory. Does anybody here know at which date or serial number, Leica started putting the "improved" innards into R8's? Or, how you can tell, from the outside, if this has been done?
