I didn't find the lamp distracting, until I read about it being a
distraction. Then I couldn't see past it. 

The lamp blends in well with the background. I didn't even notice it at
first. The face caught my attention first and the gaze drew me to the
right, away from the lamp.  

I might be a better image without the lamp. (A little Photoshop magic
and it's gone.) Or maybe it's there for a reason.

Yup, the lamp behind the head is distracting...other than that... ;-)
