I just wanted to encourage all to see this series of posts that Doug Herr 
provided the URL for. After hearing so many complaints about why the DMR, 
how it will kill Leica, etc etc, here is someone who says: if you know what 
you are doing you can get superior performance, and as far as I can see he 
is not being paid by anyone to say that. And that is the general Leica 
theme: if you know what you are doing, you can get superior performance.

My version of this is the following. I want to be able to see detail at the 
edge of the frame (so that I can read something that is posted on a wall, 
but which I never even thought to look at closely when I was making the 
photograph). Will the Leica lens be good there (and not only or mainly in 
the center parts)? Yes, if you know what you are doing... (actually, even if 
you don't know what you are doing!--for they are designed for a more 
balanced performance over the frame, or so it seems).
