Subject: [Leica] M3 Rangefinder Near, Far and Rate

I read this on Dante Stella's page, that the M3 finder has three adjusts. 
Near, Far and rate. I've read the page at nemeng and am still confused about 
this. Does the big silver cam adjust rate or infinity? Thank you.
