many thanks, Luis, I have the same Leica Copies  book, but it doesn't tell 
me 
if the earlier Nicca/Tower models are shorter...I  appreciate the

According to Leica Copies book (ISBN 1-874485 05 4) the first Tower   
made by Nicca was a Type-3 model distributed by Sears Roebuck in   
1951-2. It was similar to the Nicca's IIIA and IIIB models.
