Leica are not saying they are shifting sensor manufactures, just the company that will be providing the specifications for the sensor. In other words, Imacon is not helping in the design of the Digital M. Leica has posted elsewhere that it will be a Kodak sensor, similar to what was used in the DMR. The difference in crop from 1.37 on the DMR to 1.33 is probably related to the mounting of the sensor. In the case of the DMR, the sensor had to fit between the existing film rail in the R9 in order to obtain focus in the same shot as film in the R9. With a digital M, they will not have this limitation and the sensor could be a bit bigger. Was there any thought about why and who the vendor might be? I'm glad to hear more details. Adam -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
