The lens has a HUGE back focus distance. The rear lens element is about 50-55mm in front of the film plane, measuring from the -(-)- focal plane mark on the SL. Looka at a pictre The rear element is about where the knurled ring to rotate the lens is. And that's not even the nodal point from were the rays begin to diverge. If that is near the diaphragm blades, where it supposedly shold be, the nodal point is a good 70-75mm in front of the film plane. Looking from the otside of the lens, about at the rear of he aperture ring. With a reasonable 6mm shift, which is just before vignetting sets in (easy to see in an SL viewfinder), I would be surprised if any problems came up. Are you going to LHSA SF?
