Friends on LUG referred to the f1.5 50mm Summarit as a "1950's" lens. I just
did some portrait work with this lens at full aperture with Tri-X using an
M3.
The results were remarkable. It is a lens out of time. Left on its own, with
only EL, it brought out contrast and subtlety. It didn't tear women's faces
apart. It isn't a clinical lens when used as it was intended by Leitz. It
was a
joy to print its negatives.
