Ah, the Doodle. Forgot about that.  And then there's Louis's for hamburgers.

Despite all the problems here, people can eat well in New Haven. The Italian 
food is great, and you don't have to send your Leica off to get it fixed. 

Bagels are an issue, though. There are three types: assimilted, goyische, 
and Yankee. There are no Yiddishe. You've got to New York for that. Bagel 
fressers beware, though. If the bagel was baked in the morning, it's got to 
hard as rock by 5 p.m. to be a real, yiddische bagel. No preservatives.
