This is not a magazine I normally read, but I was waiting in my 
dentist's office and there it was.....

...and in the October 2005 issue there is an interesting interview with 
James Nachtwey about what he has learned about, and how he goes about, 
being a photojournalist.

I have looked and it is not online except as a paid subscription.

But if you get a chance to see it you might find it interesting.
