According to the San Jose Mercury News, it hasn't rained this early since 1948. So like all good photogs, when the rain stopped, I took couple cameras out and went for picture hunting.... The white color stuff on the edge of the water is salt, not snow. The Bay Area produces a good percantage of the industrial salt used in this country. Some groups are buying up some of the salt ponds and converting them back to marsh land. http://www.dragonsgate.net/pub/richard/LJPics/0922A05/img0004.jpg I have no idea what the pipe running from the bottom right edge to the left side carries, but I can attest that the immediate surrounding area stinks :-) The ladder-like object on the left horizon is the old Dumbarton bridge, now unused. http://www.dragonsgate.net/pub/richard/LJPics/0922A05/img0002.jpg http://www.dragonsgate.net/pub/richard/LJPics/0922A05/img0007.jpg http://www.dragonsgate.net/pub/richard/LJPics/0922A05/img0012.jpg The giant electric towers crisscross the bay. On a non cloudy day, you would see the mountains and the edge of the bay sparkling with lights. http://www.dragonsgate.net/pub/richard/LJPics/0922A05/img0013.jpg The current Dumbarton bridge. http://www.dragonsgate.net/pub/richard/LJPics/0922A05/img0014.jpg VC15mm lens, Tri X @400, developed in Ilfotec DDX 1+4.
