Subject: [Leica] RE: LUG: Hyperfocal Settings for Quick Shooting

Ken,

The hyperfocus setting for quick shooting, particularly with short lenses,
is determined using the depth-of-field scale that appears on either side of
the focal distance pointer.
    1) Select a shutter speed and aperture to give the desired exposure.
For best results, use a small aperture opening, such as f/8.
    2) Rotate the lens to place the right hand aperture mark (f/8) oposite
the "infinity" mark on the distance scale.
    3) Check to see where the left hand aperture mark falls on the distance
scale, such as 12 feet.
    4) Shoot anything between 12 feet and infinity without refocusing.

Hope this helps.
