If you have the time visit  Xi'an, it is worth the trip for the Terra Cotta 
army alone.  The city is the ancient capitol of China which still has its 
Ming dynasty walls intact. Many old temples etc. Also the 
surrounding area is and agricultural region. It could afford several days 
worth of good shooting, When I went I only had one day to fly from Beijing 
to Xi'an and back so all I got to see was the TC army, if 
I ever get the chance to go back I would plan to spend more time in Xi'an.
