Still working with it. Composed in 4x5 proportions, and cropping away slowly; and enjoying some of the texture under the subject. Also, I'm working an essay on the subject of poetry and images and how words and pictures work together - this relates to your question insofar as the poem will end up in the cedar as one of a few examples of how word placement may or may not affect the combination - all work in progress. > Is the poem original, composition composed with the poem in mind, or a > happy circumstance of image and poem coming together. Yes. The poem is original. It all came about on a too hot Sunday afternoon. The roses had been sitting there and words began to flow onto paper. I began to reflect on how 'broken' my mother has been since my dad's death a year and half ago. The camera came out. I wasn't really sure if the image and words work together as strongly as each separately. So I really appreciate your feed back.
