FYI documentary-style RF users,

James is a very talented black & white Leica
photographer whom I met three years ago when
we were both photographing in Xinjiang Autonomous
Region, China. He was working exclusively with
just a single M2 and 35mm/f2.8 Summaron -- and
that's all. If you are in NYC on 20 June, it would
repay the effort to check out this auction. You
can see some of his work on his website below.

Subject: Charity Photo Auction by Christie's

Dear All
I wanted to let you know about an upcoming photography
auction in which I will participate
by Christie's to benefit Equality Now on 20 June 2005
at Rockfeller Plaza.

What is Equality Now? Started in 1992, it works for
the human rights of women all
over the world. Issues of concern include rape,
domestic violence, reproductive
rights, female genital mutilation, trafficking in
women and girls, and other forms
of violence and discrimination against women. By
increasing public awareness and
mobilizing individuals through its international
Women?s Action Network, Equality
Now works to transform collective concern into
strategic action to make equality
a reality.

The benefit is being co-chaired by Gloria Steinem and
Meryl Streep, with Jonathan
Demme, Edwidge Danticat, Gordon Parks among others on
the benefit committee. I
am in tremendous company. A sampling of photographers
includes: Annie Leibovitz,
Gordon Parks, Mary Ellen Mark, Harry Benson, Maggie
Steber, William Claxton, Donna
Ferrato, David Burnett, Paul Fusco, Susan Meiselas,
Liz Gilbert (also of Redux),
Stanley Greene, & Jodi Cobb.

I have to confess not knowing all the details in
acquiring tickets but here are
some details that will help resolve that question.

Equality Now's web address is www.equalitynow.org.
The contact e-mail address for
questions is: info@equalitynow.org.

I would advise you to contact Equality Now to make
arrangements before 10 June.
