Subject: [Leica] Had a play with the DMR today

Subject says it all. I was at a UK event here in the UK today and had a
chance to play with the DMR. Very neat piece of kit. The conversion from
digital to film involves opening the digital back, putting a cover over
the sensor and unclipping the DMR - very simple and very quick.

Some people have asked if the display on the back interferes with the
viewfinder. I didn't have a problem, my cheek didn't press on the back
of the camera body.

The unit was a dealer demonstration model and didn't have the latest
firmware which was why the Leica rep asked me not to post anything. What
I can say is that the colours are very very good. Can't judge too much
anyway as the camera was in program mode and set to ISO 100 and I was
shooting at the long end of the new 28-90mm zoom - camera shake spoils
most of the shots I took.

If I had an R8/9, had the lenses and deep pockets, I'd be very
interested.
