Subject: [Leica] Any Know production problems with 50 Summilux ASPH?

Hi everyone,

After months of waiting, I finally received a delivery of 50 Summilux ASPH 
last week.  I shot few rolls (ASTIAs and Velvias) over the weekend and 
frankly I was disappointed to see the resultss.  Does not seem to 
significantly sharper than the latest non-ASPH version.  

Then I remebered  hearing  a rumour while back that 50 Summilux ASPH is 
prone to production issues concerning the floating element mechanics.  

Recent Photos I took with the same camera recently with different lenses 
are quite sharp and in focus so I don't think it is a problem with the 
rangefinder of the camera.

I am wondering wether my expectations were too high or there really are 
problems with the particular lens I got?

Any comments from you would be helpful.
