Back in 7th grade in Munich, I had to buy a kit for mechanical drafting 
class. We were given the choice of Steadler or Rotring. I ended up with 
a kit that was 95% Steadler, because it was much cheaper, but I
had two Rotring pens. They belonged to my dad, but he let me use them. 
I still have those pens 20 years later (he's got one of them) and they 
still work, as does my Pelikan fountain pen, which I found in the 
hallway in 3rd grade...
