For the last couple of years, my little, fairly simple digital camera
has been a great stimulus in getting me to be more active in
photography again--I'd been sort of burned out, but the almost-instant
feedback of plugging the camera into the Mac, correcting the image in
Photoshop, and making a print really got me to thinking about pictures
again. Figuring out how to get the most out of a basically
point-and-shoot-camera was a challenge.

Yesterday I drove over to Marin to meet Bill Lawlor and buy an MR meter
from him, to replace one I destroyed (by slipping on some ice and
falling on it) some years ago. We--me with my M3 and the MR, he with
his new CV R3--took a photo stroll around an area of former houseboats
converted to on-the-land houses that I never would have found on my
own. I spent a good bit of time today wandering around my
neighborhood with the M3.

I'd like to have a black and white darkroom again someday, but I doubt
that I'll ever try to do wet-process color again.

So, the answer to your question is yes and yes.

And I'll bet that if Ansel were alive today, he'd be out trying out the
latest in digital equipment!
