There's a REALLY interesting article in the April 11 issue of New Yorker
magazine that describes the use of a Leica digital camera (probably the S1)
to photograph a famous medieval tapestry at the Metropolitan Museum of Art
in NYC. It also describes how two Russian mathematicians were given the job
of cleaning up the digital files when it was discovered that the final
stitched image didn't match up the tiles properly. Highly recommended for
art history buffs, math freaks, and digital imaging junkies.
