During the Easter weekend, spring well and truly arrived here: http://www.nathanfoto.com/paw/2005/2005_12.jpg My daughter's school organized the obligatory Easter egg hunt in a nearby recration area, so I went and took pictures of kids (but not my own). Apparently, some of the children took a dim view of the event: http://www.nathanfoto.com/paw/2005/2005_12alt1.jpg This little girl thought she was a fox and so needed to dig a hole: http://www.nathanfoto.com/paw/2005/2005_12alt2.jpg While this little boy had finally pestered his parents enough to get an ice cream, which provided this image of anticipation: http://www.nathanfoto.com/paw/2005/2005_12alt3.jpg The one thing Netherlands has plenty of is water, and also bike paths, which are also used by rollerskaters: http://www.nathanfoto.com/paw/2005/2005_12alt4.jpg For week 13, here are a few images from last weekend. Most of our friends are members of the local expat community. Pam is from Malaysia, married to an Englishman, in other words, a fairly typical couple in our circle. Saturday night she invited us over for dinner. Here she is working on the sat? chicken on the barbecue: http://www.nathanfoto.com/paw/2005/2005_13.jpg (this is actually my favourite picture of the lot) Here is Pam at work on the grill: http://www.nathanfoto.com/paw/2005/2005_13alt1.jpg and in the kitchen, making Malaysian curry: http://www.nathanfoto.com/paw/2005/2005_13alt2.jpg The last picture is from a LAN party in my town. For the uninitiated, a LAN party consists of a bunch of (usually) teenagers getting together and playing computer games over a LAN set up for the occasion. I took my son there, and much to my surprise, rather than the stereotypical pale-faced geeks, I found a bunch of friendly Dutch kids who made my son feel welcome and part of the group. This is more or less what it looks like: http://www.nathanfoto.com/paw/2005/2005_13alt3.jpg I did not stay long, lest I embarass my son too much...
