I am looking for a mint leica M3 body for my 53rd birthday present.
I located one last week which was supposedly cleaned and lubricated and
the
dealer
wants $1100 - $1200.
This is a late model (over serial number 1.1 million)
Do you think this is a smart move?
I last used Leicas when I was a photographer in the US Army during the
Vietnam War.
We used M4 bodies with 35mm/50mm and 90mm Summicron lenses.
I remember - even at that time, people told me the M3 was the best built
Leica ever.

Thank you very much for any insight you experts can provide.

Mike
