$$$$$$$$!!! There was that rare Leica R 28-70?? 2.8 that went for about
$5,000 if I remember right.

The more glass, the more you have to spend for German gear. I'm also
guessing plastic parts and computerized glass making keeps the cost down on
Nikon and Canon.

I have the new 17-55/2.8 AF-S DX lens for Nikon. Sweet lens, but it already
has dust on the inside, so much for quality control.
