I've always thought this is a little unfair on poor old Richard. We was 
an anti-semite, for sure, but then so was most of Europe in his day, so 
you could say he was a man of his time, however inexcusable. Obviously 
he never met Hitler, though his sister made much of Hitler's love of 
his music after his death.

Seems a shame if you only hear Wagner's sublime music filtered through 
the horror of Nazism. Surely it's time to let that preconception lie?
