I do not have a favourite lens per-ca. I use whatever lens/lenses suits
the working situation based on subject working distance. I often carry
two bodies loaded with the same film*. Common lens pairings are 35/50,
24/35 and 24/50. Normally 50 is as long as I will go but sometimes you
need a little more reach and a 135/4, 135/2.8 or 90/2 is added
depending on reach required and light available.

I judge the 24, 35/1.4A, 50/1.4A, 90/2AA and 135/4T-E lenses to be
equal in performance. They are all fully useable wide open right across
most of the field and good to excellent in flare suppression. The
135/2.8 is slightly soft wide open and worse in the corners. Fine when
as long as you use it carefully.

I also have the VC 15 which is very good at f5.6 to f8. A bit
surprising to see how often I use it and like the results.

* I used to carry four bodies with the same film but my back has made
that impossible now.
