By " re-install!" did they mean "put the battery back in again?

On my D100 I had to take the CompactFlash out (The Lexar I call it, like
Kleenex) and put it back in again.
Its basic computer stuff.
The old restart trick.
But sometimes I find than not only do I have to restart but leave the room
and come back in again.
Once I might have made a quick perimeter of the outside grounds of my house.
I felt my CPU? needed some space to get it together on its own.
