It's quite possible the available light was just that..."flat with little snap to it." Not a big deal It's just the look. As the subject is interesting, certainly with the caption ..... however? ;-) Bending your knees slightly more than you have, that is unless you can't. ;-) I think would've increased subject impact therefore making it a stronger composition? Getting down lower might also have blown the shot because the subject could've objected about taking his picture? ted.
