I think that best Canon lenses are not far behind the Leica ones and I do appreciate the comfort of AF and AE that really works,. The only true difference, concerning output quality, between 1DS and 20 D is the size of the image you get. Of course there are many other differences in building quality in features but I think that a 20D with adapters is one of the best choice for Leica R lenses owners. I have had the Digital Back for Leica R in my hands, not working yet, and I've found the combo R9+DB similar in size and weight to my 1Ds with the advantage that same camera may fire film or digital while I need switch from EOS 1Ds to EOS 1V for doing the same. Output quality? I'm sure that coming from Leica nothing can be less than excellent. If one has a lot of Leica R lenses it seems a good choice. Price should be not so high. Having used extensively R8 and EOS 1 I do not find problems with the finder. The R8 may be better but not using like Doug long teles I find myself comfortable with EOS finders. It's true that I change cameras so often that I've developed an adaptation ability that makes me feeling comfortable with almost *any* camera including different ergonomy even different mounting turn direction lens like Nikon and Canon, excepting the LCD finders. This is the reason that is driving me to change my Minolta A2 for a Pentax Ist DS in few weeks. Some bag size -not the huge EOS one- and much more comfortable finder. Regards Felix
