I rarely go up f4 @ iso 64 with the oly (mostly f2.6-1.8), and I havent experienced too many problems with purple fringe or noise, perhaps why I tend to use it in RAW mode. Imho those compact lenses seems to work better wide open or near than the higher stops because the diffraction makes them perform worser than they can. As far as I can manage it with an acceptable speed, I'll stick with the wider aperture. DOF isnt an issue with compact digicams. > Or did you add the blur later on? No, I never do that kind of "creative" things in my personal photography production, only the usual RAW processing. I always preferred the direct copy than a lot of post-processing, like slide-shooting, no matter if its film or digital.
