This is correct. The email address is always in the message. It's just that
some mailers work hard to prevent you from learning it. On my screen, your
message to the LUG looks like this:

        From: "Jim Nichols" <nicholsj@edge.net>
        To: "LUG@Leica-Users.org" <lug@leica-users.org>
        Date: Sat, 22 Jan 2005 12:32:03 -0600
        Subject: [Leica] Off-List Contacts

As you can see, the email address is right there. Your email program might
be displaying something else, but you can always trick it into revealing
that information. Even Microsoft email programs will reveal this
information, though they don't make it easy.
