Also here in Sacramento, but it varies seasonally.  Sometimes it's less than
the least expensive gasoline.  A big advantage of diesel fuel is the higher
energy content.  With a light load my huge diesel pickup truck gets 21 miles
per US gallon, vs. 10 mpg for a similar gasoline-powered pickup.  Even
pulling a horse trailer with 2 horses (about 5,000 lb) the truck gets 15
miles per gallon.
