Would someone who uses a Nikon Scanner be kind enough to go through their
set up and work flow with differing slides/negs etc. I am trying to search
the archive with limited success.

I have bought a Nikon 5000ED scanner, with roll film and slide loaders. So
far, I've played with slide scanning, using the SF 210. Apart from
occasional jams etc the results are very good, but scan times seem very
high. Should I scan at maximal resolution and play with 130meg images later
or is there a way to scan smaller previews quickly and then only hi-res the
scans you want?
Scanning time seems more of a problem wiht the digital ICE etc, which takes
a long time. At the moment, I'm using ICE for non Kodachrome slides (but it
seems to work with most anyway) and finding a little shadow penetration and
colour correction is very useful: I set ROC to one and DEE to 5.

DEE seems to cause "flareing" on the resultant scans from areas of high
brightness -- do others find this?

Tips please.

Cheers
