Ted,
Again a wonderful response. As we discussed some time ago my Mom's side
of the family has been in Canada since the Revolution (Empire Loyalists). I
remember a time back in the 50's when WGN Chicago started broadcasting the
Blackhawks (I was in my single digit years) followed by interviews with the
players. Whenever an Uncle would drop down to Chicago I would listen
fascinated by his words...One time I shared with Mom..."He sounds just like
one of the hockey players"
Another dead giveaway for an American is "ya know?" It's maddening
listening to all these American athletes & entertainers inserting "Ya know"
every 5 words...one of these days I will answer "No I don't know, will you
please explain" Canadians use "eh" which I don't find nearly as bad.
