Torrey Pines Gliderport will show you some good human birds: http://www.duke.edu/~ajs2/2004_10_SanDiego/pages/13_1841_010_27A.html I liked Pacific Beach...it's supposed to be a typical SoCal beach town. Nice place to watch the sunset from.
