Don't try to fix the Self-Timer yourself; send it off to a good Leica  
repair 
shop. Somebody on the LUG site will recommend a good one, like  Sherry 
Krauter in New York, Essex Camera in New Jersey, etc. [IIIf's with  
self-timers are 
worth more than IIIf's without them.] --bob  cole
