It works with the APO 280/2.8 and the non APO 180/2.8 . Maybe the APO 
version. I don't know. It won't work on the 135/2.8 .

I don't know about other lenses. On the 1.4x APO extender, the front 
element sticks out too far and interferes
with mounting on most R lenses.

I had one with my 280/2.8 and also used it on my 180/2.8 .
