I would trust that they knew what they were doing, so I'd find a Leitz UV. The advantage is that the ring knurling on the Leitz filters matches the lens, and the lens caps. I'm assuming you are using that pitiful 39mm lens cap that keeps falling off. Be ready to endure the "UV filter vs no filter" debate. regards Vick -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+vick.ko=sympatico.ca@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+vick.ko=sympatico.ca@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Alexander Glissan Sent: Wednesday, October 20, 2004 8:18 PM To: lug@leica-users.org Subject: [Leica] RE Type II 50/f2 'Cron + Skylight of Choice I bought a 1970's 50 'cron (glass is topnotch.....amazing) But was told I should put a Skylight on it. Does anyone know of a good protective filter which will not compromise the quality of the glass in terms of picture quality that is?
