Yes, and for that I am thankful for their generosity and the mercy of an
army doctor who took care of a Snowbird doing stupid things on vacation. He
didn't have to, had no obligation and only did so because he, as most
American I know will help people in need.   ...and it helps if your uncle is
a CO.

Yes, their taxes AND MY taxes mean I don't have to decide between being in
debt for life or being crippled for life. 

As a society we (and I) believe that its better (and cheaper) for all
involved if everyone in our tribe has access to medical care ...and public
education. It makes for a physically healthier and literate population and
does not further widen the economic gap between the rich and poor (the
middle class is an endangered species) and all the civil unrest and societal
tension that comes with that. Those who feel they have no part of or
responsibility to the tribe, or that the tribe is leaving them out it
privileges, will turn rogue against their tribe.
 
"Individualism" and "isolationalim" can be a good thing but not in all
circumstance. Sometimes its better to cooperate and work with your
neighbours to build a better community for all.  

Even anarchists can work together for the good of the greater anarchists
community :^) 

You can't live in a walled compound with your guns forever. Wouldn't it be
nice if the world outside your compound was a nicer place to travel, visit
or work?

Self employed people don't get Workmans Comp here. ...and from what I have
seen of their bureaucracy in Nfld it's the last place you want to get
tangled up in when you are an injured worker or even an employer.
