Don.. The timing function of a digital sensor is entirely electronic.
Therefore there is no need for a traditional shutter like in a Leica RF
camera, where the purpose of the shutter is to control the length of time
the film is subjected to the scene light.  See the Hasselblad cameras of the
500C class for a light baffle..  That is what the so called shutters on a
digital camera are really there for.

Note for those not familiar with the Hasselblad 500C cameras.... there is a
in the lens ( leaf)  shutter.  There is also a light baffle in the position
of the focal plane shutter.  The purpose of the light baffle it to protect
the light from hitting the film when the leaf shutter is open for focusing
and viewing.  It is not used to set timing for the exposure.
