I had a similar experience. I keep hearing people describing it as clunky
etc. Then I got hold of one in a store one day. The minute I picked it up
my brain went "Uuuuuhhhh... 

Amazing ergonomics. It fits like a glow. 
The SL runs a close second, but then again it only has one dial and button.
