Hi Nathan,
Thanks for a fine series of touching moments. It seems each time we see this
type of Remembrance service the "guys are older and numbers fewer." :-(

And over time the servicemen and women who did battle quietly slip away,
eventually leaving us only crosses, flags and monuments to remind us of the
horror and stupidity of conflict!

And for those who have no idea what this WW2 battle was all about, I suggest
reading Cornelius Ryan's, "A Bridge too Far." as it's an interesting and
meaningful read.

The battle for the bridge at Arnhem was carried out for nothing more than
stroking the ego of a General who was miffed, because as he saw it, his
competition on another front was getting all the "good stuff."

Any battle when 10,000 airborne troops go in and only 2000 get out can only
be considered an act of sheer stupidity on the part of the battle planning!
An appeasing for the sake of stroking a sore looser!
