I wonder if it would be possible to fashion an M-to-X adapter, so that 
if light-levels demanded, you could use a fast lens solely on the 36x24 
setting. An X-Pan body, 45/4 and Summilux would be a nice, small 
package to carry.

The original X-Pans are getting affordable on the used market - I've 
seen several of the Fuji-branded body/lens kits going for ~$1100. Not 
cheap, but not as bad as they could be.
