Hi Nathan,

A kumquat is a small citrus fruit About 4 cm big and has the color of an
orange.
If you simmer them slowly in a sugar syrup you can eat them whole. They
have the nice sourish/bitter taste as all the citrus fruits. They go
very well with ice cream, pancakes etc.
You might be able to get them in a better assorted vegetable specialist.
I'm sure you can find them in Amsterdam.
If you like you can also come over with your family to me and I will
prepare them for you.

Best regards,

Michiel Fokkema
