Subject: [Leica] Leica IIIf BD/RD Confusion

I have a Leica IIIf, SN 636xxx, shutter speed 1/25, 1/50 etc., which, by definition, should be a Red Dial version.  However, the markings on the synchro dial are black.  Can anyone explain this?
